The whales didn't cooperate today but this Marlin did !

200 lb + Marlin on 30 lb test line. We were trying to catch this marlin. 90 % of the time we release the fish unharmed and in good shape to fight again.
Most of the time you hook a fish like this in the mouth and thus easy to remove the hook for a quick release.

We tried to revive her for release but couldn't, so we donated approx. 135 lbs of meat to the needy.

Advice:

After bringing the fish to the boat don't lift it out of the water, hold the fish by the sword in the direction your boat is traveling. Keep boat at 4 mph while water passes thru the mouth and gills.
Look at the color of the fish to see if the brightness comes back to the fishies skin.
Once the fish starts to shake like it has energy wait 1 min. then release.
